What does the Tourist destination sign mean?
Brown signs direct you to tourist attractions and facilities, often with a symbol for the type of place.
Also known as: Brown road sign, Brown tourist sign
What it means
The sign shows the direction, and sometimes the distance, to a tourist destination.
Brown backgrounds are used for tourist destinations, either on separate signs or as brown panels on other direction signs.
A symbol often shows the type of place, such as a castle, zoo or museum. Once the full name and symbol have been shown, later signs may show just the symbol.
Where you'll see it
On the approach to tourist attractions such as zoos, castles, museums and theme parks.
Rules to know
Tourist destinations may be shown on separate signs with brown backgrounds, or on brown panels on other direction signs.

Common mistakes
Mistake: Losing the route when the name disappears from later signs.
Instead: Follow the symbol: after the first sign, the symbol alone may be used.
