Temporary signs
Temporary signs are put up for road works and other short-term changes to the road. They can warn of hazards, set a lower speed limit or show which lanes are closed.
You must not exceed a temporary maximum speed limit. Some temporary signs only advise, though: a yellow rectangular 'Max speed' sign at road works shows an advised speed, not a legal limit.
